A jewel in Overvintl from the 13th century is the Ansitz/ Baumgarten Manor/Castle which unfortunately burnt down in 1938, but has been restored very lovingly by it’s current owner, making a parade example of a noble residence – in the right hands.

Mühlbacher Klause

The historical fortress of Mühlbacher Klause was a frontier between the landholdings of the Gorizian and Tyrolean Nobility, then later on it was a customs barrier, a hunting castle and a defence fortress in the Tyrolean Freedom battles of 1809.
